Where are we in Launceston?

We are located in the Branch Office building at 45 Cameron Street, Launceston, Tasmania.

This historic building was designed and built by Peter Mills. Mr Mills was one of Tasmania’s most prolific and respected architects at a time when Launceston’s building heritage enjoyed its busiest period. Mr Mills designed and built a great number of Launceston character buildings between 1864 and 1882 including the Town Hall, Cornwall Insurance Office, Commercial Bank Building and Fawns Block.

The building was originally known as Mills’ Corner and is admired by Heritage Walk visitors to Launceston and locals alike.

The building has enjoyed the diverse roles of:

  • Mills' residence and furniture warehouse
  • The Australian Tax Office
  • Office of Deputy Prime Minister of Australia - Lance Barnard
  • The Cox Bros Store

to name just a few.

Today, the Steele family operate the Branch Office Serviced Offices on the lower floors and have recently completed the refurbishment of the Peter Mills Apartments on the top floor, overlooking Holy Trinity Church.
